Get knocked down by the Red Hot Chili Peppers
December 28, 2012 - 2:01 am
First they were all, "We want to hump everything!"
Then they were all, "We want to hug everything!"
Between the oversexed frat boy funk of their early days to the reassuring, feel-good rock that comprises much of their contemporary catalog, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have forged a career that got the band inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, however improbably.
The band's latest disc, "I'm With You," seems like an encapsulation of several wings of that institution. The album's first three tracks alone span disco, hip-hop and brooding folk.
But one thing has remained constant over the years: These dudes still aren't big on wearing shirts.
