Grease up that pompadour for Viva Las Vegas

Let’s do the time warp again.

“Viva Las Vegas,” the song, was popularized by Elvis in the early ’60s.

Rewind a decade prior to that, back to Elvis’ 1953 debut, and you have the era that Viva Las Vegas, the multiday music festival, predominantly mines.

A parade of pompadours, pomade and Betty Page looking chicks, Viva Las Vegas is one of the biggest annual rockabilly fests in America.

The event pretty much swallows The Orleans casino whole, with dozens of bands performing all day and night, a vintage clothing market, burlesque performances, tiki pool parties, a hot rod show and more.

This year, the big names include Little Richard, Dick Dale, Rosie Flores and countless others.
