Musical chameleons wrap up holiday weekend

Home may be “The Tonight Show” and Jimmy Fallon, but you can argue The Roots double as the honorary house band for the Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq.

The versatile soul and hip-hop outfit officially opened the cool music hall at The Linq last March, then backed up Elvis Costello with songs from their “Wise Up Ghost” collaboration as part of the inaugural weekend.

After a New Year’s blowout at the club, Questlove and his musical chameleons are back to wrap up the holidays with shows on Friday and Saturday. You probably won’t hear the piano theme to Fallon’s “Thank You Notes” and not everything will be fun.

The band’s newest album, “… And Then You Shoot Your Cousin” is a bleak half-hour conceptual suite that could play as background music to the just-ended year’s racial upheavals.
