Play looks at how children coped with Holocaust

The true story of children coming of age during the Holocaust will be presented by valley youngsters on Sunday through performances of "And a Child Shall Lead."
Showtimes are 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday at Temple Sinai, 9001 Hillpointe Road. Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children, with $2 discounts for members of the Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada and Jewish Enrichment World Services. For details, call 794-0090. The play is not recommended for children younger than 8.
Set in a way station before the death camps, the play recounts how children played, studied, created art and wrote an underground newspaper.
The cast features students in grades four through 12 from the local Jewish community, including Kayla Ben Shimon, Samantha Carmer, Jordan Shervan, Shoshana Wexler, Chava Friedberg, Kendra Gomez, Briana Iannozzo, Hannah Weller, Devyn Lehrman, Shawn Miller, Nathan Phillips, Russell Sorom, Heather Postler, Alex Weiner, Menashe Roberts, Isabelle Levitus and Ariel Wexler.
The play is directed by Kate Harris, assisted by Courtney Broadbent and Willi Thompson.
