QUICK TAKES

Release date set

It feels like fans have been waiting forever, but a release date has finally been set for Guns N’ Roses’ “Chinese Democracy.” Geffen Records has announced that the album will be released Nov. 23 at Best Buy stores and the retail chain’s Web site. The band, fronted by Axl Rose, has sold 90 million albums. “Chinese Democracy” is the first album of Gun N’ Roses material since 1991’s “Use Your Illusion I” and “Use Your Illusion II.”

Stomach trouble

Former Las Vegan Julianne Hough, who’s partnered with “Hannah Montana” actor Cody Linley on “Dancing with the Stars,” says she’s feeling fine after being hospitalized for stomach trouble. Hough went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following Tuesday’s live results show. “With stomach problems, you never know what’s going on,” Hough wrote in a FanCast posting. “It could’ve been appendicitis. It turned out just to be a bad stomach. As my mom said, better safe than sorry.”

New Jennings release

Seven years after his father’s death, Shooter Jennings has retooled the recordings the two worked on and released them on a new CD, “Waylon Forever,” billed as the country star’s final recordings. Waylon Jennings sings on the eight tracks and plays guitar on two of them. The disc also features remakes of Jennings’ classics such as “Waymore’s Blues,” a cover of Cream’s “White Room” and a never-released Waylon Jennings composition called “I Found the Body.”

More episodes, please

“Knight Rider” will keep on keepin’ on, at least through the end of the TV season. Even though “Knight Rider” has attracted only so-so ratings, NBC has ordered nine more episodes. The series has averaged about 7.4 million viewers, but runs neck-and-neck with CBS’ comedies for second place at 8 p.m. Wednesdays. (Fox’s “Bones” is the No. 1 show in the time period.) “Knight Rider” is the fourth new series this season to earn a pickup, after Fox’s “Fringe,” CBS’ “The Mentalist” and The CW’s “90210.”

Anderson gives birth

Gillian Anderson and her boyfriend, Mark Griffiths, have welcomed a baby boy named Felix. Anderson’s manager, Connie Freiberg, said the baby was born Oct. 15 in London. Anderson, who starred in “The X-Files,” has a 14-year-old daughter Piper from her marriage to production designer Clyde Klotz. Felix is the second child for Anderson, 40, and Griffiths. Their son, Oscar, will be 2 years old next month. Freiberg said Anderson didn’t name the boys after characters from the classic comedy “The Odd Couple.”

Keepin’ the faith

“I realized, besides being completely terrified about taking this on, that people had faith in me far more than I had in myself, and that I will keep for the rest of my life.” — Demi Moore, who directed a short film for Glamour magazine’s annual Reel Moments event.
