Event to include an ‘epicurean adventure’

The University of Southern Nevada’s second annual Chefs, Wine & Spirits Too event is scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 14 in the MonteLago ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas. The evening will include appetizers, cocktails, a five-course “epicurean adventure” with wine pairings, a cookbook and more. Tickets are $125 per person, $240 per couple or $1,150 for a table of 10. Chef Roy Yamaguchi’s Island Hop Dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Roy’s Restaurants at 620 E. Flamingo Road and 8701 W. Charleston Blvd. With an entree of olive-oil-poached loin of lamb, the five-course dinner is $85 per person with wines, $55 without, plus tax and tip. The El Cortez, 600 Fremont St., will commemorate Aug. 8 — that’s 8/8/08 — with a Lucky 8s buffet dinner for $18.88.
