San Gennaro Festival promises more Italian food, fun

The latest edition of the San Gennaro Festival runs from Tuesday through Sept. 14 at the Grand Canyon Shopping Center, 4245 Grand Canyon Parkway (near Flamingo Road and the Las Vegas Beltway). It's billed as the largest San Gennaro to date, offering more Italian food, entertainment, music and carnival rides than in the past. Hours are from 4 to 11 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; 4 p.m. to midnight Sept. 12; 11 a.m. to midnight Sept. 13; and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 14. A Taste of Bellagio, hosted by Gourmet magazine, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at the resort at 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The event includes a five-course dinner, cooking demonstrations and wine education. Tickets, which are $150 per person, are available by calling (866) 937-7117. ...

Intimate Fine Dining has opened at 1770 Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson. The restaurant, which has just eight tables and is reservation-only, serves six- to 10-course meals of such dishes as buffalo short rib braised in Fat Tire Ale and sweet chili sauce, and foie gras with coconut-banana French toast and tamarind maple syrup.
