Kevin James doing stand-up at Mirage

While you count down the year that promises us "Grown Ups 2" in July, you can catch up to Kevin James at his stand-up shows this weekend.

James may not be the first Las Vegas headliner name that comes to mind, but "Vegas has always been great to me," he once noted.

The comedian has been headlining larger showrooms since "The King of Queens" made a star of him in 1998.

And before the sitcom pulled him out of the comedy club ranks, James worked unbilled in Las Vegas comedy rooms.

James played football during three years of college at State University of New York College at Cortland. He tried out for a community theater production and then joined brother Gary Valentine's improvisation troupe before following him into the comedy clubs.
