Strip Tips: Towels and soccer and drinks, oh my … how cool is that?

If you need some ideas for how to beat the summer heat, check out this week’s Strip Tips.

Reach the beach

If you’re looking to spend $100 and you need a new beach towel, check out Brighton Collectibles at Miracle Mile Shops in Planet Hollywood Resort. The store is giving away free Brighton Fashionista beach towels to customers who spend $100 in the store, through June 10.

Oooh … frosty!

Carlos’n Charlie’s in the Flamingo is offering some new happy hour drink specials. Get two-for-one regular and “Big Mamma” size frozen margaritas. “Big Mamma” means a larger-than-average drink. Flavors include Charlie’s Frozen margarita, mango and passion fruit margaritas. The special is good daily, 2 to 6 p.m.

Go for the goals

Blondies Sports Bar & Grill at Miracle Mile Shops in Planet Hollywood is hosting viewing parties of the 2012 European Football Championship through July 1. During the games, pay $20 and you’ll get all-you-can-drink domestic drafts. Wear a team jersey and pay only $10. They will also be serving $5 jager bombs. When a player gets a yellow card, patrons get $3 yellow shots. Red cards get you $1 red shots. On Wednesdays at 10 p.m., Blondies will host doubles beer pong tournaments with $20 all-you-can-drink domestic drafts. Thursdays are singles beer pong tourneys with the same specials. The winning teams will get cash prizes, too. Call 737-0444 for more information.

Ah, there’s the rub

Ladies, if you’re thinking of getting a blow-out during June, Dollheads Blow Dry and Extensions Bar in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood is offering a free head massage. Tweet something about @dollheadslv on Twitter or “like” the Dollheads’ Facebook page and you’ll get a free, 10-minute head massage with the purchase of any style blow-out. Call 431-4315.

Old yo ho ho? Um, no

Question: Is the old pirate show ever coming back to Treasure Island? I’m not a big fan of the siren show – Robert from LV

Answer: Probably not, Robert. Hotel representatives have said that the old pirate show, which was very kid-friendly and didn’t feature women in skimpy costumes, doesn’t fit the hotel’s demographic now. But Sirens of TI does feature pirates, so it’s not a bad thing. It’s just different.
