Young performers to share talent

The 100 Black Men of Las Vegas Chapter will host the second annual "For the Love of a Child" performing arts showcase at 4 p.m. Sunday in Cox Pavilion at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street.

One group and five individual high school performers are the featured acts, and will receive scholarships for their participation.

Broadway in the Hood, a local group of youth entertainers, will open the showcase. Celebrity judges will include actor Antonio Fargas u25B6, local singing star Genevieve Dew and Las Vegas Academy graduate and UNLV star performer Primrose Martin.

The 100 Black Men held several weeks of auditions to find the performers. Jordan/Johnson Band, Jordan Madagamo, Shanaya Silva, Malia Civetz, Rachel Roorda and Kyle Jon'Rae Edmond were selected to perform.
