Solarbration, the inaugural Las Vegas solar festival, blends art, technology and outreach to promote renewable energy, inspire conservation and support sustainable communities.
The free solar festival will take place today on the summer solstice from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St.
The festival showcases the power and possibilities of solar energy. This family-friendly festival combines entertainment with education in renewable energy, sustainability and community engagement.
“We promise to deliver a fun family event that will be a one-stop location for everything related to going solar,” said Jennifer Clifford, district manager of the Conservation District of Southern Nevada. “We will have all the latest information regarding energy rebates, tax credits, solar financing and lots of hands-on activities for all ages.”
In the Solar Village, visitors can meet more than 40 exhibitors. The solar festival also will help fund a community art piece that is solar-powered. A new piece of artwork will be commissioned annually in conjunction with the festival.
