Songstress Papin playing Orleans
December 24, 2010 - 12:00 am
Imelda Papin was known as the “sentimental songstress” of the Philippines in the 1980s. Now she lives in Las Vegas, where she has been a voice of the local Filipino community with her own radio show.
Last year, Papin teamed with Melissa Manchester at The Orleans. Now she’s back for a Sunday show with the Cascades (“Rhythm of the Rain”) and Ron Dante, who you might have listened to in the 1960s after cutting his record from a cereal box; he was the “Sugar, Sugar” voice of The Archies.
Tickets are $40-$80 for 8 p.m. in the Showroom at The Orleans, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave. Call 365-7075.
