Newly divorced Gwen Stefani ended an interview with a Las Vegas radio station Tuesday with an emphatic response that raised eyebrows.
While promoting her new single “Used to Love You” on KMXB, 94.1 FM, Stefani was asked how she was dealing with the “tabloid craziness.”
“I am good,” Stefani told “Mercedes in the Morning” host Mercedes Martinez. “I mean it’s a lot. It makes me kind of believe that this was my gift, writing songs.
“It happened before with the ‘Tragic Kingdom’ album. That whole record was written out of heartache, and it’s so weird that now I have a whole other record. … I don’t understand, like I’m unlucky in love.”
Stefani’s 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale of the rock band Bush ended in divorce in October. She filed for the divorce amid rumors that he had an affair with their nanny.
Stefani and newly divorced Blake Shelton, who are judges on NBC’s “The Voice,” have been dating since her divorce.
Martinez finished the interview with a flurry of rapid-fire questions.
“What kind of car do you drive?”
Stefani: “Range Rover.”
“What is your must-have item on the road?”
“Have you ever stolen anything?”
Martinez’ question apparently struck a nerve.
“No! I am NOT a stealer or a liar or a cheater!”
Fieri hot under collar
Tired of being Anthony Bourdain‘s favorite target, Food Network personality Guy Fieri has fired back.
In an interview in the latest edition of GQ magazine, Fieri, the host of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” suggests Bourdain has “definitely gotta have issues, ‘cuz the average person doesn’t behave that way.”
Bourdain, best-known for hosting CNN’s “Parts Unknown,” has been zinging Fieri for his flame shirts, his spikey bleached hair-do and his credentials as a chef.
In a July interview, Bourdain jabbed Fieri for “being 52 years old and still rolling around in the flame outfit.”
Fieri told GQ: “I don’t like him making fun of people, and I don’t like him talking (expletive). And he’s never talked (expletive) to my face.
“You have nothing else to (expletive) worry about that if I have bleached hair or not?”
Fieri operates two restaurants in the Las Vegas area and has a third planned in early 2016. Guy Fieri’s Kitchen & Bar opened at The Linq last year, and El Burro Borracho (The Drunken Donkey) is going into the Rio next year. He opened an El Burro Borracho at Harrah’s in Laughlin several years ago.
Fieri attended UNLV’s William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration in the late 1980s and was honored as the 2011 alumnus of the year.
His Twitter bio reads: “Guy Fieri is an American restaurateur, author, television personality, and game show host seeking inner peace and escape for overwhelming criticism.”
