Clark County’s annual Cardboard Boat Regatta is slated for 5 to 8 p.m. July 25 at the Desert Breeze Aquatic Facility, 8275 Spring Mountain Road. Participants will float boats made from cardboard and duct tape. Night swimming and boat registration are set to begin at 5 p.m., with races starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children 3 to 17 and $1 for seniors 55 or older. Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas, 7055 S. Fort Apache Road, plans to host the Soggy Jog at 8 a.m. July 26. The waterpark race course will include the Colorado Cooler (Lazy River), Canyon Cliffs (water slide) and Desert Racers (water slide). Each participant will receive exclusive access to the park from 9 to 10 a.m. and free admission to the park for the remainder of the race day. J.R. Pony Parties’ Farm Day Camp program has open summer sessions for children to become junior wranglers and experience life on a farm. The camp is open to girls and boys from first through fifth grade. Kids will have the opportunity to chose an animal and learn how to care for it. They will also participate in grooming, tacking and washing ponies. During camp, children will learn about horse anatomy and first aid for farm animals. Activities include a bug safari, water games, arts and crafts, and riding an animal every day. Camp is planned from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1744 Leonard Lane. Remaining sessions are through July 25. “The Magic School Bus Kicks Up A Storm” exhibit is scheduled to visit the Discovery Children’s Museum, 360 Promenade Place, through Sept. 1. In the exhibit, based on the Scholastic Entertainment books and television series, visitors will get to enter Ms. Frizzle’s Classroom, climb aboard the bus and visit the Walkerville Weather Center. Visitors can explore the water cycle and its relation to weather and how influences from air, heat, water and land combine to create weather.
