LOS ANGELES — It’ll be a very “Gilmore” Black Friday. All four 90-minute “chapters” of “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” will premiere on Netflix at midnight Pacific Time on Friday, Nov. 25, meaning that fans are officially 120 days from fresh quips from Lorelai and Rory.
To tide you over until then, Netflix has also released a clip featuring Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham together again. They tease what’s to come while trading lines about Amy Schumer and John Oliver:
Each chapter of the series will cover one season (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer). While there had been a bit of a kerfuffle over some casting, most of the series regulars will reprise their roles, including Melissa McCarthy, Scott Patterson, Rose Abdoo, Sally Struthers, Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, David Sutcliffe, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena, Danny Strong, Vanessa Marano and Yanic Truesdale. Edward Herrmann, who played Gilmore patriarch Richard, passed away in 2014 but will be honored within the chapters — Richard’s wife Emily (Bishop) will be a widow.
Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino wrote and directed all four episodes with partner Daniel Palladino. Plot details remain elusive for now, but expect dribs and drabs to come out of the show’s session at Netflix’s TCA day today.
“Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” is from Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
