Summerlin showcases artists, entertainers at festival

The recent 20th anniversary of the Summerlin Festival of Arts drew more than 30,000 people from throughout the Las Vegas Valley for a reimagined festival that included more than 100 artists from across the country, live street arts, headline entertainment, food, charitable groups and children's activities.

This two-day event at Downtown Summerlin in the heart of the master-planned community marked the one-year anniversary of the center and was the perfect way to celebrate both visual and performing arts in a dynamic setting, according to Danielle Bisterfeldt, marketing director of Summerlin.

"The Summerlin Festival of Arts has long been a staple of arts and culture in our community," she said. "With the infusion of headliners like Clint Holmes, Human Nature, and performances from Absinthe and 'Zarkana' by Cirque du Soleil, the festival set a new standard for excellence and fun. It was a fantastic way to recognize Downtown Summerlin's successful first year of operation as well as the arts in Las Vegas."

At the Festival, winners of the annual Best of Summerlin competition were announced following a three-week online voting process that generated more than 4,000 votes. This year's Best of Summerlin winners included popular restaurants, a holistic salt therapy center, a veterinarian and a farmer's market. See the list of winners at Summerlin.com.
