SIGNINGS

Clark County Library will present “An Evening with Todd Johnson: Southern Nights, Broadway Lights and Writing Styles” at 7 p.m. Monday at 1401 E. Flamingo Road. The author will discuss his first novel “The Sweet By and By.” A book signing and reception will follow the presentation.

Lisa Frye, author of “Be Good To Your Money: The Guide To Living Like a Millionaire on $25,000 a Year or Less,” will apply her tips to President Obama’s economic policies during an appearance at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Author and psychologist Jana Kohl will discuss her book “A Rare Breed of Love” at 4 p.m. Thursday at Sunrise Library, 5400 Harris Ave. She also will appear at 12:45 p.m. Saturday at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive, as part of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District’s Petstacular Pet Fair.

TV and radio commentator Deborah King will sign and discuss “Truth Heals” at 1 p.m. March 1 at Spiritual Life Center, 1420 E. Harmon Ave.

Russell Banks, author of “Affliction,” “The Sweet Hereafter” and “The Darling,” will give a reading and discuss his work at 7 p.m. Tuesday at UNLV Student Union Theatre, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

John Bevere, author of “Drawing Near” and “Driven by Eternity,” will speak at 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 and 11:45 a.m. March 1 at The Church of South Las Vegas, 3051 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson.

The Socrates Cafe, a discussion group on “Six Questions of Socrates: A Modern Day Discovery through World Philosophy” by Christopher Phillips, meets at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in the Reading Room at Mandalay Place, 3930 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

The Amazing Reads Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.

The Great Books Reading & Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month; the Mahogany Circle Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the first Saturday of the month; and the SNAFFU Science Fiction Book Club meets at 2 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Valley of Fire building new visitor center

Nevada officials say the new visitor center at Valley of Fire State Park will feature “state of the art” exhibits that explain the park’s cultural and geological history.
