The Vegas Valley Book Festival will feature closing keynote speaker Dennis Lehane at 7 p.m. today at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. "Feasting on Words -- The Literature & Food Fair," hosted by chef Rick Moonen, will be 11 a.m.-4 p.m. today downtown at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. 4th St. For more information visit www. vegasvalleybookfestival.org.
The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada will host the Jewish Book Festival today and Nov. 14. Authors Laurie Ann Levin and Elisa New will discuss and autograph books today at Congregation Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valle Verde Drive, Henderson. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. On Nov. 14, the festival will feature authors Daniel Levin, and Annabelle Gurwitch and Jeff Kahn at JCCSN, 9001 Hillpointe Road. Doors open at 4 p.m. The fee is $18, and includes refreshments. Tickets may be purchased in advance. Space is limited (794-0090).

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
