BOOK SIGNING

Andrew Feder will sign and discuss “The Heretic” 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Borders, 6521 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Dean Karnazes will sign and discuss “Ultramarathon Man” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway.

EVENTS

“The Legends Behind the Comic Books,” a panel discussion on the history of comic books featuring artist Greg Hildebrandt, will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

“Food and Hunger: Eating in America,” a panel discussion featuring author and chef Alice Waters, writer and organic farmer David Mas Masumoto, and food scholar Raj Patel, will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the UNLV Student Union Theatre, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

“Close Calls with Nonsense: Reading New Poetry,” featuring poetry readings and discussions by professors Stephen Burt of Harvard University and Donald Revell of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Marjorie Barrick Museum Auditorium, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

“An Evening with Max Brooks: Surviving the Zombie Wars” will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Mornings with Mari Book Club meets at 10 a.m. the third Saturday of each month and the Best Book You’ve Never Read book group meets the second Sunday of the month at 7 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, 8915 W. Charleston Blvd.

Book Lovers’ Bistro meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

The Breakfast Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the third Friday of the month at Sunrise Library, 5400 Harris Ave.

The Rainbow Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.

The Book Chat Cafe meets at 10:30 a.m. the third Saturday of each month at Summerlin Library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive.

The Murder in the Library group meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month and the Desert Hearts romance readers book club meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

The Mystery Readers Book Club meets at 7:15 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

The Malcolm Adult Book Chat meets at 4:30 p.m. the second Monday of the month at Lydia Malcolm Library, 2960 Sunridge Heights Parkway, Henderson.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

The monthly Poet’s Corner is the third Friday of the month at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
