Regional health clinics chain poised to open in Las Vegas

A regional chain of health clinics is set to open in the Las Vegas Valley.

Optum Urgent Care, which has quick-care clinics in Texas and Kansas, is holding its grand opening at 75 S. Valle Verde Drive, Suite 100, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Dignitaries scheduled to be on hand include city of Henderson Councilwoman Gerri Schroder.

Optum Urgent Care said its clinic is “designed especially for active parents, busy professionals and children,” and is an alternative to visiting the ER.

The clinic is celebrating its grand opening by partnering with Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada to hold a food drive. Consumers who bring nonperishable food items to the clinic through Jan. 31 will receive a free biometric screening that includes a blood pressure reading, a body mass index calculation and the opportunity to talk with a provider about any health concerns.

Optum Urgent Care is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
