Here are a few pop culture tidbits.

▶ Transportation problems anger attendees of the RiSE festival near Jean, where 20,000 paper lanterns were released into the sky. Luckily, the lanterns were large enough to carry notes desperately soliciting rides back into town.

■ The NFL creates a sportsmanship award. Because unsportsmanlike play is the biggest problem the NFL has been facing this season.

■ Prince William and wife Kate announce that their second child is expected to arrive in April. To put this in U.S. civics terms, this will bump William’s brother, Prince Harry, to just three spots above Secretary of Agriculture.

■ Two San Francisco radio stations ban Lorde’s “Royals” during the Giants-Kansas City Royals World Series. Meanwhile, a Kansas City station bans “(You’re) Having My Baby,” just because.
