HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, a seven-mile moderate-to-strenuous hike at White Rock. On Friday, an easy, two-mile walk around the Moenkopi Loop. Also on Friday, a four-and-a-half-mile moderate hike around Potato Knoll. On Saturday, an easy half-mile walk at Corn Creek Spring. Also Saturday, a moderate four-mile hike through Calico Hills (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three- to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's Web site: www.aroundthebendfriends.com

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, ongoing program beginning at 9 a.m. at the visitor center on the Desert Tortoise. On Friday, an interactive program about bats for 2-6 year olds. Children will participate in an activity and a craft (515-5367).
