Holy Trinity AME Church, 700 Lola Ave., North Las Vegas, will host its Women’s Day Celebration with guest speaker the Rev. Yolanda Silver, of St. Paul AME Church in Hughes, Ark., at 10 a.m. Sept. 9. Lunch will follow the service (877-0790).

Hadassah Aviva, a local chapter of the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, will celebrate the organization’s 100th birthday with guest speaker Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman at 1 p.m. Sept. 10 at Jewish Community Center, 9001 Hillpointe Road. SERVICES

Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St., will celebrate its 66th anniversary during services at 8 and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sept. 9. The theme for the celebration is “Transformation – One Life at a Time.” The Rev. Robert E. Fowler Sr. of Victory Baptist Church and his congregation will be in attendance (647-3071).

South Hills Church, 9220 Manhattan Road, Henderson, is participating in National Back to Church Sunday on Sept. 16 and will have services at 9 and 11 a.m. (616-6700).

King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery will have its annual communitywide Kever Dorot memorial services on Sept. 23 at the following locations:
10:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North; 1 p.m. at Palm Memorial Park Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.; and 1 p.m. at King David Memorial Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. Rabbis and cantors from several Southern Nevada synagogues will conduct the services (464-8570).

MEETINGS

The Las Vegas Lay Dominicans will have an inquiry meeting at 9:30 a.m. today, followed by their monthly meeting from 10:30 a.m. to noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Newman Community, 4765 Brussels St.

Hindu Temple & Jain Center of Las Vegas, 1701 Sageberry Drive, offers Balaji Abhishekam services at 10:45 a.m. the first Saturday of the month in the temple, and Aarti Pooja services at noon Sundays (304-9207).

CLASSES

Child Evangelism Fellowship will hold a training class for new Good News Club teachers. The classes will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8 at Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road. Lunch will be provided. For reservations, call 396-8363 or 878-8603.

The Las Vegas Diamond Way Buddhist Group offers guided meditation and dharma talks at 7:45 p.m. Thursdays (260-4426).

Govinda’s Center of Vedic India, 7181 Dean Martin Drive, offers Mantra Meditation, a presentation of Indian Vedic Wisdom, vegetarian snacks and literature at 6 p.m. Sundays (434-8332).

SINGLES GROUPS

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada, Temple Sinai and Congregation Ner Tamid offer a variety of programs for Jewish singles of all ages in Las Vegas and Henderson. For details, call the Jewish Community Center at 794-0090, Temple Sinai at 254-5110 or Congregation Ner Tamid at 733-6292.

New Life Christian Center has a singles meeting at 7 p.m. the second Friday of the month at 1229 E. Carson Ave. (387-5433).

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church sponsors a singles group for people 45 and older (804-8365, ext. 7333).

Single Adults Learning Together, or SALT Ministries of CornerStone Christian Fellowship, meets at 6 p.m. Saturdays at 5825 W. Eldora Ave. (871-5050).

60+ Singles Catholic Fellowship, open to men and women of the Catholic faith, meets the first Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the Village Pub, 10900 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson (796-1953).
