The Umami Burger in SLS has a Mindy Kaling creation for you

She says the fact that it’s spicy and cheesy reflects her personality, and who are we to argue?

That’s Mindy Kaling we’re talking about, and the flavor attributes refer to The Mindy Burger, which goes on sale today at Umami Burger locations including the one at SLS Las Vegas, 2535 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Kaling’s burger is one of a series of celebrity burgers created by the Los Angeles-based chain with about two dozen outlets across the country. It’s a beef patty topped with pickled jalapenos, fried onion strings and house-made sriracha aioli. It’s $13, and $1 from the sale of each burger will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, which has a goal of doubling pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.

Season four of Kaling’s “The Mindy Project” begins Sept. 15 on Hulu, and her second book, “Why Not Me?” also will be available that day, in stores and by digital download.

Vegas Golden Knights Christmas Display
In the Las Vegas Valley, the chances of getting a white Christmas are slim. But this year, you can have a “Knight” Christmas. A Henderson resident has a Christmas lights display that is synchronized to the entrance music for the Golden Knights. GG Misa’s Knights light show is played every 30 minutes from 5 to 10 nightly. His light show consists of two songs: Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and the entrance music, “Le Castle Vania,” from the movie “John Wick.” The display is located at 730 Bollons Island St. (Richard Brian/Las Vegas Reivew-Journal)
