Here are a few things in news, entertainment and pop culture that we’ve been talking about lately.
■ NASA feels compelled to point out that, despite filmmakers’ claims, the moon monster flick “Apollo 18” is “not a documentary.” Causing dolphins, dogs and elephants to shake their heads in disbelief that humans somehow became the dominant species.
■ A study says watching nine minutes of “SpongeBob SquarePants” can cause short-term attention and learning deficits in 4-year-olds. Seeing as how watching a half-hour of “Jersey Shore” can cause lifelong stupidity in everybody else, we’re not sweating “SpongeBob.”
■ Ellen DeGeneres presents a $100,000 gift to Whitney Elementary School. All together now, class: Thank you, Ms. DeGeneres.
