11 displaced after fire at eastern Las Vegas Valley duplex

Eleven people were displaced from their home Wednesday afternoon after a fire at an eastern valley duplex.

Firefighters responded about 4:20 p.m. to the duplex at 885 Ute Lane, near Bonanza Road and Nellis Boulevard. In a statement, the Clark County Fire Department said crews found flames and smoke coming from one residence and extending into the attached, adjacent residence.

Crews doused the fire in about 20 minutes.

The Red Cross of Southern Nevada helped the 11 people displaced.

The cause and extent of damage were under investigation. Nobody was hospitalized.
