Updated April 2, 2025 - 3:16 pm

A 17-year-old has died after a head-on-crash in the east Las Vegas Valley last month that also left four people injured, police said.

The Metropolitan Police Department said the crash occurred on March 17 around 3:21 a.m. on East Sahara Avenue, east of Pacific Summit Street, when a 20-year-old driving a 2002 Toyota Camry collided with a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan.

A 17-year-old passenger in the Toyota died from his injuries sustained in the crash on March 23 at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Police initially reported that he suffered critical injuries immediately following the crash.

Two teenage passengers aged 18 and 15 in the Toyota and the 20-year-old driver were injured in the crash. The 40-year-old Volkswagen driver was also injured.

An impaired driving investigation was completed on both drivers. The crash remains under investigation.

A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that the driver of the 2002 Toyota Camry died.
