One person is dead and two adults were displaced after a fire at an apartment complex in the west Las Vegas Valley Monday morning.
The Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded about 11:30 a.m. to a fire at a two-story apartment complex at 8000 Spring Mountain Road, near Buffalo Drive.
Upon arrival, search crews discovered one fatality while firefighters worked to put out the fire, which took about five minutes after entering the structure, according to the department.
Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the other units, Clark County fire spokesman Jeff Buchanan said.
The cause of the fire and cost of damages is under investigation. The American Red Cross is assisting the two adults that were displaced by the fire, Buchanan said.
