Updated September 27, 2017 - 4:05 am

One woman was killed and another seriously injured in a crash Tuesday night in the west valley, Las Vegas police said.

Metro responded about 8 p.m. to the intersection of Fort Apache Road and Lake South Road, near Desert Inn Road, Lt. Grant Rogers said.

Police said three pedestrians were crossing Fort Apache in a crosswalk when a 2015 Chevrolet Cruz crashed into two of them.

A 71-year-old woman was hospitalized and later died at University Medical Center, and a 36-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The third pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, was uninjured. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruz remained at the scene and cooperated with police. It’s unclear if speed or impairment were factors in the crash.

The Clark County Coroner’s office will identify the woman who died after her next of kin are notified.
