1 wounded in shooting near the now-closed Riviera

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting just off the Strip near the shuttered Riviera.

Officers responded to the 2900 block of Paradise Road, near Riviera Boulevard, where a man was shot, Metro tweeted at 12:35 p.m.

The man was taken to University Medical Center in unknown condition, said Metro spokesman Officer Larry Hadfield.

“Expect heavy police activity in the area,” the department tweeted.

Further details about the shooting were not immediately available.
