A 13-year-old boy was in “extremely critical” condition after being struck by a vehicle in the southwest valley Friday night.
It happened about 8:30 p.m. on Jones Boulevard, north of Dewey Drive, the same intersection where a 15-year-old boy was struck while crossing the street Thursday night.
The boy was riding a Haro BMX bicycle in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2003 Toyota Corolla, forcing him to the ground, Metro said Saturday.
The 17-year-old male driver of the Corolla continued south on Jones to a controlled stop with the bicycle lodged underneath his vehicle.
The bicyclist was transported to University Medical Center Pediatric Center in critical condition.
The collision remained under investigation.
