2 found dead in northwest valley home

Metro homicide detectives on Wednesday evening were investigating the deaths of two older people in the northwest valley.

Officers were called to the 9100 block of Firebird Drive, near Cheyenne Avenue and Rampart Boulevard, about 6 p.m. They found the bodies of a man and woman inside a residence, Metro Lt. Joel Martin said.

Homicide detectives were still at the scene about 9 p.m., Martin said.

The cause of death and identities will be released by authorities at a later time.
