A 92-year-old woman died Thursday morning from injuries received during a car crash four days ago, Henderson police said.
The woman was a passenger in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee traveling west on Lake Mead Parkway on Sunday. The Jeep was struck by a 2006 Ford F-250 pickup truck near Atlantic Avenue, Henderson spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said. It happened a little before 7 p.m.
The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening at the time, but police were notified after she died.
Her identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office after her family has been notified.
The driver of the pickup, a 49-year-old woman, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, Richards said. Additional information about the woman was not available, Richards said, because the woman has not been arrested and the records bureau is closed until Monday.
A preliminary investigation indicated that alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
This is the third traffic-related death in Henderson this year.
