Authorities capture 2 escapees from Clark County boot camp
Two men who walked away from the Three Lakes Valley Boot Camp in northern Clark County early Wednesday morning were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.
Shane Perez-Vallestro, 18, and Marvin Baldridge, 23, were accounted for during the 4 a.m. count and noticed missing at 4:21 a.m., according to the department.
It is alleged the pair stole a corrections officer's vehicle, a 2013 brown Nissan Altima, according to a release from the agency.
The department of corrections, with the help of Las Vegas police, found Baldridge and the stolen car about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of St. Rose Parkway and South Las Vegas Boulevard, the department wrote in a release.
They found Perez-Vallestro about 3:45 p.m. in the area of West Charleston Boulevard and South Buffalo Drive.
Baldridge was admitted to the court-ordered diversionary program for identity theft and Perez-Vallestro was admitted for attempted home invasion.
The Nevada boot camp is a 190-day program of regimented discipline for first-time felons with no previous incarceration of a year or more.
