Body found in desert near Sandy Valley identified

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified a man whose body police now say was dumped in the desert Thursday near Sandy Valley.

He is Delroy Tatenda Ashton, 23, the coroner’s office said Friday. Records show he lived in Irvine, Calif.

Las Vegas police on Friday said Ashton was killed somewhere else, then left just south of state Route 160. Police said he was found shortly before noon Thursday.

No suspects have been identified and the motive remains unknown, according to Metro.

This is the 19th homicide investigated by Las Vegas police in 2015.
