Body of missing North Las Vegas man found in wash

The man whose body was found in a wash in the northeast valley on Wednesday was the same man with Alzheimer’s disease who had gone missing last week.

Hollis Thompson, 73, of North Las Vegas, was found about noon Wednesday in a wash at Copper Sage Street, near Lone Mountain Road and Lamb Boulevard, Las Vegas police said. The wash is about seven miles north of his home.

Detectives do not suspect foul play and the coroner will release the official cause of death at a later time, police said.

North Las Vegas police on Wednesday had asked for the public’s help in finding Thompson, who had Alzheimer’s and required medication. He left his home in the 400 block of Recco Avenue to go to the store Jan. 7, his family told police.

Thompson was reported missing on Tuesday, police said.
