Child pulls boy from pool at Las Vegas apartment complex

A child pulled an unconscious 8-year-old boy from a pool and performed CPR on him Saturday afternoon at a northeast valley apartment complex, police said.

Police said the 8-year-old was with two adults and four other children at the Eagle Trace Apartments complex pool, 5370 E. Craig Road, near Las Vegas Boulevard North, when he went under the water. Metro Lt. Brian Cole said the boy was unconscious and unresponsive.

One of the other children rescued him from the pool before performing CPR to get the boy breathing again, Cole said.

The boy was taken to University Medical Center’s pediatric center and is in critical condition.

Abuse and neglect detectives are investigating.
