Coroner identifies body found in east Las Vegas Valley

The body found in the east Las Vegas Valley Saturday afternoon has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Las Vegas police responded to 6019 Clark St., near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue, about 2 p.m. for a report of a suspicious body found at the home, Metro Lt. Jeff Goodwin said.

The man was identified as John Gregory Weidman, 48, according to the coroner.

Homicide detectives were notified of the death but will not investigate until the coroner determines the cause and manner of death, Metro Lt. Larry Hadfield said.

It was not immediately clear what about the death made it suspicious, Hadfield said.
