Coroner identifies man found dead in vehicle Thursday

A man who was found dead from a gunshot wound in a vehicle in an alley Thursday was identified Saturday by the Clark County coroner's office.

He is Michael Houston, 37, of Los Angeles, the coroner's office said.

Metro officers were called just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the 2500 block of Lynnwood Street, near Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue, the department wrote in a release Friday.

Police found Houston in a four-door sedan. Homicide detectives believe the shooting may have been narcotics-related, the release said.

Houston died of multiple gunshot wounds of the head and neck, the coroner's office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

This is the 106th homicide investigated by Metro this year.
