The man who was shot and killed at a strip mall near UNLV on Monday morning has been identified.
Michael Anthony Johnson, 30, of Las Vegas was found just before 3 a.m. lying in the parking lot near Harmon Avenue and Paradise Road with a gunshot wound.
An initial investigation showed that Johnson and his girlfriend were in a car in the parking lot when they got into an argument with people in another car.
Johnson left his car and pointed a gun at the other group. One of them pulled out a gun and fired, hitting him.
Police said they have interviewed the person who shot Johnson, but did not release his name.
The Clark County coroner’s office said Wednesday morning that Johnson was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest. It has been ruled a homicide.
