Coroner identifies man killed in Sunday hit-and-run
The man killed in a hit-and-run crash the east valley early Sunday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Ismel Moreno.
Moreno, 49 of Las Vegas, was outside a crosswalk when he was hit by a pickup that was heading eastbound on Sahara Avenue, near Mojave Road, about 3:30 a.m., police said. Moreno died at the scene.
The pickup left after hitting Moreno, police said. Officers said they found the truck and the woman who was driving it later in the day.
Samantha McLeod was located about 2 p.m. Sunday. McLeod was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on felony hit and run charges.
This was Metro’s fourth traffic-related fatality for 2015.
