Coroner identifies pedestrian killed in Sunday night crash

A woman who was hit and killed Sunday by an sport utility vehicle in the central valley has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

She is Ana Garcia, 50, of Las Vegas.

Garcia was struck just after 6 p.m. Sunday by a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo after she stepped off a median on Sahara Avenue, about 40 feet west of Las Verdes Street, and into the left lane of traffic, Las Vegas police said.

She was taken to University Medical Center, where she died.

The 79-year-old Las Vegas man who was driving the Isuzu stayed at the scene, Metro said the night of the wreck.

Garcia’s was the seventh traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
