Coroner IDs body found in Las Vegas park

A man found slain in a central valley park Monday has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office as 41-year-old Anthony Renard Prather.

He died from blunt force injuries and assault, staff said Wednesday morning. His death was ruled a homicide.

Prather's body was found about 9:20 a.m. at Doolittle Park, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd., near Concord Street.

Metro police noted the "apparent injuries" on his body, they wrote in a release Monday.

Homicide detectives said Prather was possibly involved in a fight early Saturday morning. No suspects are in custody, and the motive for his death is unknown.

Prather's death is the 94th homicide in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
