Coroner IDs man killed in Wednesday motorcycle crash

The 20-year-old man who died after his motorcycle collided with a Jeep in the northwest valley Wednesday night has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as David J. Maples of Las Vegas.

Witness statements indicate that Maples was traveling west on Centennial Parkway when an eastbound 2008 Jeep Liberty, operated by Barbara Condron, 69, turned in front of him, Metro said Thursday.

The 2005 Suzuki GSK-R600 motorcycle overturned and slid into the passenger side of the Jeep, police said.

Maples died later at University Medical Center.

Condron remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The investigation closed the intersection for hours.

This is the 66th traffic-related fatality in 2015 in Metro’s jurisdiction.
