Coroner IDs pedestrian struck, killed Thursday night

A 71-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a car Thursday night has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
Maria Herrera of Las Vegas was struck just before 8 p.m. while crossing Lake Mead Boulevard, east of Linn Lane, outside of a marked crosswalk, according to Las Vegas police.
A 2006 Hyundai Sonata was traveling east on Lake Mead and hit Herrera in the eastbound lanes, police said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
This was Metro's 71st traffic-related fatality for the year 2015.
The crash remains under investigation by Metro.
