Coroner’s office IDs man killed in DUI-related crash

The Clark County coroner’s office on Monday identified a man killed in a Saturday night crash in the southwest valley.

Alvin Davis Jr., a 19-year-old Las Vegan, died at University Medical Center shortly after the 6:18 p.m. wreck, Las Vegas police said.

Davis was driving a 2001 BMW 330 Cl on Buffalo Drive when Marc Fernandez, 40, turned a 2003 Ford Explorer into the BMW’s path at the Badura Avenue intersection, police said.

The 17-year-old passenger in the BMW suffered serious injuries, but was expected to survive, police said.

Fernandez, who Metro said showed signs of impairment, suffered minor injuries. He is facing one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center where he remained Monday morning.
