Dining Pick of the Week: Mint Indian Bistro

730 E. Flamingo Road at Swenson street, 894-9334

Indian food is fresh, flavorful, colorful, exotic and enchanting. Even better, it caters to all diet groups such as vegetarians and vegans. Mint Indian Bistro is a real treat, featuring tandoor delicacies, curries, naans, momos, chaats (snacks) and crispy dosas (crepes). Among the entrees are lamb lollipops from the tandoor oven, seekh kabobs, dal tadka balti (lentils), aloo gobi masala and a seven-dish Nepalese smorgasbord featuring soup and salad with items including Mighty Momo stuffed with ground turkey and Nepalese Rebel Chicken Curry. The signature chili dish is a fusion Indo-Chinese entree that combines veggies, chicken, fish or shrimp with chilies, green peppers, onions, soy sauce and Indian spices. For the truly adventurous, ask about the Inferno menu, where entrees (veggies, chicken thigh, boneless lamb) are marinated with hot chilies and the curry is pure heat. Popular condiments are mixed pickles and chutneys such as mango, tomato and coconut. A vegetarian and gluten-free prix fixe dinner for two ($43.99) includes the most popular Northern and Southern India dishes served with buckwheat roti and basmati rice. The daily lunch buffet ($10.99, $6.99 for children 4 to 7) is from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entrees begin at $8.99. Mint Indian Bistro open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. - Jack Bulavsky
