Dining Pick of the Week: Sugar Factory

Sugar Factory

Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, 702-641-7768

The Sugar Factory describes itself as an American Brasserie, which means an informal restaurant that stays open late, doesn’t require reservations and serves the same menu all day. Where to begin? Start with pancakes, waffles, French toast and crepes (S’mores, Nutella, mixed berry, BLT, grilled chicken mushroom). Among the sandwiches are albacore tuna melt on toasted rye, grilled four cheese with tomato soup, turkey and Brie on a baguette and the Sugar Factory Club with turkey breast, bacon, shredded romaine, avocado, tomatoes and herb mayo. There also are soups, salads, pizzas, burgers, pastas (fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, rigatoni marinara) and, of course, steak frites, including steak au poivre (brandy peppercorn sauce), steak Roquefort, steak bearnaise and steak Bordelaise. Other entrees include Pacific salmon, eggplant Parmesan and chicken paillard, where thinly sliced and grilled chicken breast is topped with greens, tomatoes and lemon-herb vinaigrette. Among the desserts are key lime pie, red velvet cake, warm apple pie, old-fashioned milkshakes, sundaes for two and chocolate fondues. A special weekend brunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Sandwiches start at $12, and milkshakes begin at $8. The Sugar Factory is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
