Nacho Daddy revamps menu in preparation for Strip location’s opening

Reinvention is the name of the game at Nacho Daddy. After putting its unique spin on the humble Mexican snack food, the Las Vegas Valley staple has further revamped its menu, adding new items, including the Sloppy “Jose” Nacho ($12.25) — a nachos-style take on a Sloppy Joe — as well as Lobster & Crab ($24) and Spicy Shrimp ($16.50) nachos.

In preparation for the brand’s new location on the Strip, planned to open in August at the Miracle Mile Shops in Planet Hollywood, it’s also added that menu’s new starters, combination plates and extensive vegan options to its other valley locations: the popular downtown Las Vegas restaurant at 113 N. Fourth St. and in the Summerlin area at 9560 W. Sahara Ave., near Village Square.

Among the new starters is the Sizzling Shrimp ($12.95 for a half pound), chipotle lime-marinated shrimp served in a sizzling skillet. For non-meat eaters, there’s the new Vegan Chik’n Tacos ($12.95), featuring Nacho Daddy’s signature tortilla filled with marinated vegan chick’n, charred tomato salsa and caramelized chipotle onions and served with black beans and rice. The texture and flavor of the chik’n was spot-on to the real thing.

Other taco options include lobster tail, surf and turf (beer-battered fish and filet mignon tacos), Baja lobster and Gringo (seasoned ground beef with yellow queso sauce).

Starters begin at $2.95 for bottomless chips and salsa and go up to $13.95 for the Naked Grill Wings. Nachos and tacos range from around $12 to $24. Entrees, including burritos, tamales, enchiladas, fajitas and combinations, are priced around $10 to $18.

There’s also a variety of burgers and sandwiches, soups, salads and sides (Mexican corn “off” the cob, a la carte street taco). Essentially, you’re safe taking just about anyone here, even if they aren’t a fan of Mexican food.

The downtown and Summerlin-area locations both have extensive bars (if you’re brave, try a Scorpion Shot), and the Sahara Avenue eatery also features a special craft brew station.

If you’re not nachoed-out, try the new Caramel Apple Nacho ($7.95), a decadent piling of toasty sweet chips, oozy apple pie filling, hot caramel, ice cream and whipped cream.

Nacho Daddy downtown is open from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday and until 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. Call 702-778-7800.

The Summerlin-area location is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Call 702-462-2298.

The Strip location, 3663 Las Vegas Blvd. South, No. 595, is set to be open daily at 8 a.m. until late night. Call 702-462-5000.
