The Las Vegas Senior Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road, is set to host a free workshop for visually impaired people and their families on basic skills, the use of technology and community resources.

The workshop is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday , with a vendor exhibit in the adjacent Dula Gym set to be open from 8 to 10 a.m.

FOR SPRING BREAK CAMPS

The city of Las Vegas plans to offer spring break camps and workshops for children and teens.

n The Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road, is set to host Splash Camp from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 25-29. Camp activities include daily swim lessons and excursions for an additional fee. Campers must bring a lunch, beverages, a swim suit, a towel and a change of clothes each day. The cost is $110 per child. Advance registration is required. n The Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St., is set to host a dance camp from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 25-29. The camp features an intensive and disciplined atmosphere for intermediate and advanced students ages 12 to 18. The cost is $75 per participant. n The Charleston Heights Arts Center plans to host a drama workshop, run by the Rainbow Company Youth Theatre, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 25-29. The workshop is to feature rehearsals , education and a performance on the center’s main stage . The cost is $135 per child. The workshop is open to children in grades two through six. n The West Las Vegas Arts Center plans to host a life skills and job readiness workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 30. The skills-based program promotes health and personal development. It is designed for young adults transitioning into the workplace, facing new roles and responsibilities. The workshop focuses on goal setting, communication, decision-making, risk and maintaining relationships. It is free and open to participants ages 14 to 19. NEVADA NATURALIST ORGANIZATION SCHEDULES OPEN HOUSE

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Nevada Naturalist program is set to host an open house from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 Paradise Road.

The event is to feature a sampling of the classes and resources the program offers, including information on ecology, regional plants and animals, environmental laws and biological diversity.

HADASSAH CHAPTER TO ASSEMBLE
A WOMEN’S SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP

The Hadassah Southern Nevada chapter, a member of the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, is forming a special interest group for women in their 20s through 40s.

An informational meeting is planned for 7 p.m. March 12 at the Lady Silvia, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
